Current advancements in biomedical research and their impact in the clinical settings

Event Description: The multiplier event took place at the end of the project and was meant to present to the public the results of the project as well as the one of the latest techniques in which the PhD students were trained, small interfering RNA (siRNA).

The event had as special guest Prof. Dr. Gheona ALTARESCU from Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel, specialized in medical genetics. She offered an overview of the small interfering RNAs as well the latest research in this domain, with a practical example from the haemophilia sector. To complete the scientific picture, Dr. Ciprian Tomuleasa presented the haemophilia pathology, disease that is currently treated with the help of small interfering RNAs. One of the PhD students from the project target group showed what he learned upon the subject of small interfering RNAs at the UI and UO partners, presenting the experience of the project from the view of the PhD student that participated in the transnational mobilities. Lastly, the project director closed the event with a presentation of the entire project and its three main intellectual outputs: updated medical research curricula for the PhD students, research e-platform, joint scientific articles and trainings of the PhD students and staff.
